Why do we Get seduced to Sell to the American Market?

I’ve been thinking about this question for a while and today I decided to blog about it. The date today is 30th August 2010 and here is the image of the number of the American population.
No matter where you look keyword research instructs you to look at the American figures, why? Is it just me that has a problem with the maths, or as the Americans would say the math?
There are over 7 billion people in the world why are we looking at 300 million. I’ll grant you in the early 90s the vast majority of Internet users were American in fact there were no browsers that could accept another language that had characters other than those found in the English language. I remember the day I first read the Pakistani had invented a process allowing browsers to accept Urdu and thinking that that will change the face of the Internet.

You can’t really blame on American arrogance at least not completely.
US residents are usually the key demographic people promote their businesses to, because they are one of the highest internet users as a country. After all, more than three quarters of US residents are active on the Internet. However, this does not change the fact that in 2010 there are other countries that have a high percentage of users per capita, for instance both Japan and the United Kingdom.

American users account for 12% of the world’s Internet population whilst China has 21% and that figure can only rise. As there are challenging economic conditions globally would it not make more sense to target the rest of the world in some campaigns and thereby spread the risk, eggs baskets an all. ‘

There are a large number of domain name extensions and if you are promoting to one specific country then it is good advice to ensure you have that countries standard domain name extension. For example, you can purchase .co.au if you are promoting to Australia, .co.uk if you are promoting to the UK and .co.in if you are promoting to India.

Why 95% of Internet marketers fail

What do the 5% successful Internet marketers have in common? What makes a successful Internet marketer and can you do to get their success?

For many years of my life I travelled around India and although I loved it there were many perplexing questions, trying to get to grips with the culture of 1 billion people is no easy task. One of the perplexing questions was why in the vast central plains of India there were bicycles. These bicycles were propped up next to trees, gates and just dropped in the fields.

These fields were miles from anywhere, as far as the eye could see there was not a single soul. It took me many years to understand quite why those bicycles with there, I had 90% of the answer within me all those years but never quite made the connection would take me up a step to join the dots.

Indian Railways was then as it is now the biggest employer in India in the 70s when I’m talking about it employed over 1 million people. Not of these people were ticket collectors and not all of them were visible in the Railways. Some came to check railway crossings as the centre of India is largely plains they would’ve had to walk miles to get there. The bicycle presumably was left for the next person to ride back when they had walked there.

Such a simple answer to a question that dogged me virtually every day for years. Another question that has bugged me for a while is why 95% of Internet marketers fail to make a living online. The education needed can be a steep learning curve but once the pieces of jigsaw are in place it should be weeks to making a profit in six months from making a good profit.

So why do so many people fail?

Is it that the gurus are not telling people what to do, it is a question of do what I do rather than do what I say. Whilst this is in part a reason it is not the whole truth. I am aware that there is crap out there being sold in the marketplace I know that because I purchase most new products. One of the reasons I do this is because I test them in real time in my blog.

This is not the whole truth because much of what I’m reading is current, well researched, up-to-date and working in today’s Internet world not last year’s Internet world today’s world. So if for the most part that information is accurate why is it that people are failing consistently?

I know many Internet marketers peers of mine, people I dine with regularly make a lot of money online many of them make over $5000 a week. Many of these help other people consistently and rigorously to make money, they make videos. My friend Sarah Staar makes at least one video week to show people exactly her blueprint to make money.

She gave me that product as a Beta tester and asked me to take every step as she had laid it out and report back to her what happened. What happened was I made over $2000 in my first campaign. I watched the videos which is funny because she knows perfectly well I hate films. She had to beg me to watch the videos all the way through. And then he hit me like a sledgehammer why so many Internet marketers fail.

What I am reading all this new material I make notes in my diary of all the things that I’m not doing and then I write it out as a checklist. In general I am musing, ermm…..I do that, oh yes I do, I wouldn’t do that because it does not work and I will do that.

It is my mindset to complete my education I set out every day to learn something new about Internet marketing. I act usually immediately on what I learn. That is the secret taking massive action on a daily basis. In my experience inspiration and luck are 99% perspiration. I work seven days a week so does my friend Sarah, we both own holiday homes around the world and both of us take our laptops with us.

Am I saying that Sarah and I made money from day one or that we never made mistakes? Of course not it took about six weeks before we made money and we have done many things by trial and error some good, some bad and some downright disastrous, but that’s the point we did something. We did not just purchase PDFs and videos we poured over them and learned until we were both in a position where we could teach. If you let me take you by the hand I will help you to learn and make a sustainable online business. I encourage you to ask questions; send comments and requests and I will attempt to answer them personally. I have a virtual assistant can do it for me but that is not my way I want to do this personally.

Recently I have had the privilege to work with Maddi Murtazza, my friend and mentor. He offered me a position to beta test his coaching programme and I grabbed it. As Victor Kyam said in the seventies I liked it so much I bought the company.

Well not quite but I took the opportunity to offer my skills as a writer to his coaching group. The coaching was about creating a product and many of the people needed to write a PDF.

The funny thing is that all started by telling me that they could not write and a week later they then produced fantastic products – fact is anyone can write. You do not need any special talents, the geeks use the excuse that they are not creative, and the artists use the excuse that they have no technical know how.

However they are both wrong it does not take either to write a good article, if you have ever cooked anything at all, ………………… even a poached egg you will understand that there is a right or wrong way to do it.

That set of instructions is called a recipe and it applies to writing just as much as it does to cooking, anyone can write. Bookmark this blog and come back often and learn to write with confidence.

Writing is such a basic skill anyone can do it and I can teach you.
