My name is Catherine and I have been a full-time writer for 11 years. Until quite recently I have been a ghost writer for other people, I have written three best-selling photography e-books for Clickbank. Although I am proud of all three of those e-books I know that I have written better; but in those cases the owner aggressively marketed them.
My best work sank without a trace it was an e-book about acne and in its time, it was ground breaking. I trolled thousands of pages of medical reports and came up with a definitive link between Acne and diet. I was immensely proud of this tome, because it reflected my no nonsense personality, and get things done gung ho attitude.
I’m not saying that one food causes acne because of course it’s clearly doesn’t – but there are clear connections between some foods diet and acne. I formulated a monthly diet sheet to avoid those foods and incorporated this into a 70,000 words document………….. The whole lot sank without trace into that vast cyberspace hole never to see the light of day. I’ll hazard a guess that the owner never sold more than 17 copies, and that figure probably reflects my naturally optimistic attitude.
All because the guy who owns the copyright either did not know how to market it or could not be bothered. It was the start of my learning curve and faltering steps in the Internet marketing world. If I was going to write I was going to do it for me.
I had taken the moral high ground as a writer I was above promoting myself. I did not have to previously, my results were my portfolio. I always overdelivered. Suddenly I had to learn a whole new business model. I decided it was time to spread my wings and utilize my knowledge for myself on being an Internet marketer. I struggled by myself for two to three years, I made a few bucks but certainly nothing to pay the bills.
It was time to start my education in earnest, I really started with Wealthy Affiliates. I joined them on 1 September 2007, I intended to stay to complete the eight week course and I am still a member today.
Wealthy affiliates taught me how to do things properly as I knew they would, they were a recommendation from my university teachers when I was taking a computer course as a mature student. It was started by two young Canadian university students and made them both millionaires. Since then I have learned a great deal of things, some of them about life and most of them about affiliate marketing. I have created this blog to pass some of that knowledge on. I have recently become a coach and mentor, and that experience has quite literally changed my life.
I have found that teaching of the people has been an incredible learning curve, unbelievably though my students have said how much I have helped them I have actually got more out of it than they did.
